GODREJ INDIA CULTURE LAB
The Godrej India Culture Lab is a fluid experimental space that cross-pollinates ideas and people to explore what it means to be modern and Indian. Based in Vikhroli, Mumbai, at the Godrej headquarters, the Lab was launched in January 2011 as an attempt to create an alternative intellectual hub in Mumbai city that would serve as a catalyst for conversations about contemporary India, by brokering interactions between academia, the creative industries, the corporate world and the not-for-profit sector.

BUNGALOW EIGHT
Bungalow 8, Mumbai's first concept store, specializes in the most unusual and unconventional Indian-inspired interiors and fashion finds.
Bungalow 8 curated each of the three floors of the 1857 heritage building, showcasing Indian inspired interior and fashion design that marries the local with the global. True to the B8 philosophy, these designs are Indian yet very international. London based designer of Indian origin Keith Khan developed a range of screen-printed kaleidoscopic printed saris specially for this event.
GALLERY MASKARA
Gallery Maskara is a contemporary art gallery in Mumbai taking a global and multidisciplinary approach to art that responds to the cultural fabric of our time thus fueling critical dialogue, collaboration, and public engagement.
It IDF Design Week, Gallery Maskara curated a solo show Glimpse of Thirst, a series of sculptural installations by artist Shine Shivan. The sculptures, most of which are costumes of amorphous fantasy characters, could be read as rebellious offspring of fashion design that question gender categorization. Event was hosted by Abhay Maskara and Maximiliano Modesti.
THE FLYOVER FARM
Permaculture in a Box: Designing self-sustaining garden containers to thrive in the urban environment. In this workshop Fresh & Local presented a Permaculture and urban farming in Mumbai. All participants planted a mixture of seeds and seedlings creating their own dynamic garden containers to be added to the Flyover Farm.
Fresh & Local is a movement to facilitate urban farming in Mumbai.
STUDIO X
Studio X Mumbai is an open space for experimental design and research run by the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation of Columbia University.
Studio X organized a guided visit of the exhibition Green Urban/Happy Owner by The artist, Soazic Guezennec. The show consists of presenting utopian architectural projects which invert the balance of power between the city of Mumbai and nature.
THE FINE ART COMPANY
Curated Threads of Identity showcasing Designer Pranavi Kapoor exclusive apparel at the TFAC Studio. A Delhi based couturier, innovation has always been her hallmark, which is what distinguishes Pranavi from others."Threads of Identity" promotes Indian craft and embroidery, empowering Indian women through their creativity and culture.
BHAVISHYANI PROJECT SPACE
As a satellite to the main IDF and the kick-off to India Design Week, Otlo is conceptually and literally an open space where new, future-looking projects can be shared. The projects concern themselves with topics that are likely to have a large impact in coming years: media, materials, globalization and sustainability.
A pop-up project was curated by architect Ashiesh Shah and Tejas Mangeshkar - showcasing Indian design with a focus on technology and sustainability.
DUTCH DESIGN WORKSPACE
Presented Pipping the seams of Fashion, curated and moderated by Akshay Tyagi Discussing the relevance of fashion from the perspective of its constant struggle between modernity, modernization and tradition. The discussed critical issues such as the purpose of trends, and fashion's link to design, function and constantly changing behaviour.
PALLATE
Pallate created a mood setting for its new collection SPIKE, at their store. Visitors were able to view and test the collection over refreshments and snacks.
EVERYDAY PROJECT
Everyday Project presented an exhibit developed exclusively for the Design Week: a collection of furniture and products, inspired by industrial design and characterised by visual playfulness, reflecting Ajay Shah's approach to design.
PRIVATE STUDIO OBATAIMU
BATAIMU, meaning 'overtime' in Japanese is a subversive creative movement to 'slow down time.'
Obataimu extended an invitation to discover the humorous light installations of Noorie Sadarangani, founder of Obataimu, at her private studio.
PINAKIN
PINAKIN PATEL launched India's first lifestyle store, where he began to design his own line of Furniture, complemented by a symphony of Art, Textiles and Accessories. IDF Showcased an exclusive vist to their falgship store.
GOOD EARTH
Curated The Journey. Launching Good Earth's Farah Baksh Journal - to share the Kashmir experienced through design eyes, an exhibition by Arastan showcasing craft treasures from the Silk Route and Sunhil Sippy's Into the Crowd exhibit of photographs of Bombay that are a journey from the macro to the micro.
LE MILL
Le Mill conducted a workshop to explore the connections between design and dining in the context of India's evolving culinary scene. Whilst primarily focused on how design can impact the culinary experience through interiors and tableware, the session will also cover food presentation and kitchen design. Le Mill's exquisite tableware collection made it the perfect venue to host this workshop. Panelists: Riyaaz Amlani, Ayaz Basrai, Gresham Fernandes and Ritesh Rathi. The panel was brought together by Nachiket Shetye and Mangal Dalai of Cellar Door Hospitality.
An interpretation of le mill by Bijoy Jain, Rajeev Saint & Ashiesh Shah.Cocktail evening to celebrate contemporary design in association with Architectural Digest. Le Mill is committed to contemporary Indian design and has invited three celebrated architects to create curated interior exhibits within the Wadi Bunder store as per their individual aesthetics and sensibilities. Bijoy Jain, Rajeev Saini and Ashiesh Shah each created an installation using Le Mill's Indian and International furniture and home decor selection to express their distinctive perceptions of dest :In and space.
BOMBAY ELECTRIC
Bombay Electric is housed in a historic heritage building. A restoration and redesign exposed antique futuristic interiors featuring original tree-sized teak beams, originally a gift from the King of Burma, coupled with sculptural white racks and industrial trunks.
DESIGN TEMPLE
Design Temple was founded with the aim of creating an identity for contemporary Indian design - by spear heading globally relevant creative endeavours. This contemporary Indian design store presented a collection inspired by Earth and Desire.
